As part of our federal and local grant obligations, we collect data on the success of our arts-integrated programming. Beginning in October 2015 and extending through eight years of the Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination (AEMDD) and Assistance for Arts Education Development and Dissemination (AAEDD) grants, our evaluation includes observation of project activities; review of formative and summative assessments developed by teachers in alignment to the units of study and integrated into their instructional practice; surveys and other instruments; interviews and focus groups with teachers, artists, and students; and data from existing formative and summative state and local assessments. In addition, staff and key evaluation contractors review unit plans, teacher documentation, student work samples and other project artifacts.
We will include data as it becomes available, and you can view it here: Side x Side Evaluations.
