We are delighted to announce that Oak Street Studios is back, and better than ever! Now under the umbrella of Side x Side, we will be offering the same great classes and vacation week and summer camps, in the very same location, now as part of the nonprofit Side x Side.
The only change is that you will now come here to the Side x Side website and our Facebook and Instagram pages to find out information and to register.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Review our Covid-19 Policy at the bottom of this page.
- We follow the Portland Public School’s snow cancellations. If Portland Public Schools close, we close.
- WE ARE A NUT FREE SPACE. Please be mindful not to send your children to class with food containing nuts. We have students who have serious nut allergies. Please check with your teacher if your child needs special food accommodations.
- Parking is on-street only. Do not park behind the building or you will be towed.
2025 After-School Art Classes
OPEN EROLLMENT + FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING
We have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 12 students per class. Our after-school art classes are set up on a trimester schedule:
Winter Session: Jan 6 – March 28 (11 weeks)
Spring Session: March 31 – June 6 (9 weeks)
Fall Session: Sept 15 – Dec 19 (13 weeks)
Classes are 1-hour and meet once a week for three trimesters. Our projects are based in art history and children’s literature. We use fine arts materials and incorporate local field trips. We also host a First Friday Art Walk opening of student work at the end of each trimester.
2025 Vacation Week Art Camps
February Vacation Week: Feb 17–21, 9am to 3pm
2025 Summer Art Camps
All summer camps are one-week-long, Mon–Fri, 9am–3pm, with mixed ages 6 and up unless otherwise specified. We group students together according to age and ability and try to be sure all students have at least one peer during their camp.

We follow and respond to the safety measures put forth by our staff/teaching advisory team and Centers for Disease Control. Please email: info@sidexsideme.com if your child has contracted Covid-19 so we can work together to make a plan for your child’s return.
PLEASE STAY HOME and test for COVID-19 if you have any of the following symptoms:
- Fever, feel feverish, or chills
- Sore throat or new cough
- Nasal congestion with runny nose
- Shortness of breath
- Body aches or headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Nausea with vomiting or diarrhea
- Inform OSS staff if you test positive for COVID-19
