Side x Side was honored to be chosen to present at the National Art Education Association’s (NAEA) HYBRID 2022 National Convention in New York City last week. Staff members Anne Ackerman and Meghan Scribner presented two hands-on workshops: The Arts of Conservation: Creating Handmade Books and Field Guides of Native Botanicals and Life Science, Arts Integration, and Literacy: Bookmaking, Owls, and Adaptations.

The second workshop was conducted in collaboration with Side x Side teaching artist Jill Osgood and Lyseth Elementary School teacher Kara St. Germain. Both workshops were based on arts-integrated programs for fourth graders at Lyseth Elementary School in Portland and were designed and led by Side x Side teaching artists Anne Ackerman and Jill Osgood.
