Side x Side was honored to be accepted as a presenter at the 49th annual North American Association for Environmental Education Conference in October. This year due to the ongoing pandemic, the conference moved online and presenters submitted video workshops along with relevant resource documents for the event. Side x Side’s teaching artist coordinator Anne Ackerman and program documentation and research coordinator Meghan Scribner created a virtual workshop for the conference titled, “The Arts and Conservation: Arts Integration and Environmental Studies.” The workshop outlines a Native Maine Plants and Trees program that Anne created and implemented in collaboration with fourth grade teachers at Lyseth Elementary School last year. The workshop video was filmed and produced by Side x Side teaching artist Casey Ledoux.
