Side x Side Teachers
It’s time for Portland teachers to apply for Side x Side 2024–2025 Arts Integration Program Grants! The application deadline is Monday, June 24th. Grants are announced at the end of July.
Close to 1000 students and 42 teachers and specialists in Portland public schools participated in Side x Side programming this year, making arts integration accessible to so many learners! As we prepare for another successful year, we are full of gratitude for your support of every student.
Arts Integration Program Grants for the 2024–2025 School Year
If you are a teacher or specialist in the Portland public schools and are interested in having a Side x Side arts-integrated program in your classroom next year, please submit an application.
Also consider joining us for a free professional development workshop in late June through Project M.A.I.N.E. (contact hours for SCHs are available)
Awardee Participant Expectations: (*all requirements are supported by SxS staff)
- Plan and initiate a 1-hour design meeting in September.
- Share grant award notification and program information in the fall of 2024.
- Implement an arts-integrated unit.
- Share information throughout your program.
- Upon program completion, share a brief recap of highlights at a staff meeting.
Side x Side continues to provide:
- Experienced teaching artists who co-design and implement custom classroom programs.
- The model, materials, interns, visiting experts, and a structure to discuss and showcase the work.
- Teaching and learning strategies that support student engagement, learning, and well-being.
The process:
Submit an application by June 24th, be notified of acceptance via email in July, and get ready for a fun and creative collaboration next year!
