Statement of Equity:
We all bring our personal beliefs, lifelong experiences, and individuality to our work. We are committed to our professional aspirations and want to succeed to make a difference in the lives of others. We are challenged by our biases that need to be explored as we work to gain knowledge to address racism, oppression, and our cultural differences. In order to do that, we need to celebrate our accomplishments, be open and honest when it’s uncomfortable, and authentically and unapologetically voice our concerns so we can transition to a place of comfort with discomfort and better understanding.
This 2020-21 working statement was created collaboratively between Side x Side, Cross Cultural Community Services, the Telling Room, and LearningWorks. Side x Side is committed to undertaking this life-long work by viewing it as a journey which develops, shifts, and revises itself over time.
